iPads and Android tablets dethrone the 3DS as the most popular gaming device in the UK  

New data from Futuresource Consulting has revealed that iPads and the like have dethroned the 3DS as the most popular game. Almost half, to be precise, 44 percent, of UK children between 3 and 12 now own a tablet, with 30 percent of those aged three to four owning one. In addition, parents says that tablets are the most likely items they’ll purchase for their kids within the next six months – which is twice as likely as a smartphone or portable console.
