How many Wii Us will Nintendo sell this Holiday?

Last year, I wrote an article predicting how many Wii Us Nintendo would sell in Holiday 2013 and I predicted that the company would sell 1.5 million units, which was 450k below actual sales, so I decided I’d do something very similar this year.

With amiibo and Smash selling like hotcakes, I’m going to predict that Nintendo will sell about 2 million of ‘em consoles this holiday season, especially considering that the company said that it was having its best sales ever since the console launched in 2012, where it sold 3.06 million units in just under a month and a half.

What’d you guys think?

Dedsec and Vigilante Editions of Watch Dogs not coming exclusively for Wii U

GAME has confirmed that neither of the two versions will come for Wii U and exclusively for Nintendo’s platform. Ubisoft isn’t too happy with the console’s performance and is reportedly sitting on a pile of finished games that will only be released once sales improve.

Celebrating 125 years of entertainment - Nintendo’s history detailed

Nintendo is one of the most, if not the most, recognizable company in gaming? But did you know how its gaming empire was built? This is ABXInferno and this is “How Nintendo built its gaming empire.“

In September 1889, a man named Fusajiro Yamauchi began a playing card company called Nintendo Koppai. It was based in Kyoto, Japan and made hanafuda playing cards, a type of playing cards in Japan. The cards soon became popular and business boomed, leading to the growth of the company. He then retired in 1929 and left the company in the hands of his son-in-law Sekiryo Kaneda.

The company boomed but in 1947 he suffered a stroke and asked a relative to lead the company and drop out of university. His relative, Hiroshi Yamauchi, agreed on the condition that his older cousin had to be fired from the company. They agreed and the older Yamauchi died shortly after.

During the early days, Yamauchi...

New Nintendo 3DS announced for Japan

Two new handhelds were announced yesterday by Nintendo, called the new Nintendo 3DS and the new Nintendo 3DS LL (that’s what the XL is called in Japan). The smaller 3DS features an LL-inspired design with more rounded corners and features a larger 3.88 inch top display with a gyro and front camera for a wider 3D viewing angle, along with a new analog stick (nub, actually) next to the ABXY buttons. It also comes with a faster CPU, more RAM and a similar price. The larger LL features the same screen but the same improvements across the board, the newer CPU and more RAM along with the nub. It’s only been announced for Japan so far and some games will be exclusive to these new models, like the newly announced port of Xenoblade Chronicles. Both NoA and NoE have not announced availability in either region, though it comes out in Japan on October 11 for $154 and $180 respectively,

Hyrule Warriors Club Nintendo promotion

No its not another free game but some free DLC. Here’s as Nintendo put it:

Here’s a nice offer involving a (usually) not-so-nice guy: if you buy Hyrule Warriors for Wii U and register the game with Club Nintendo between 9/26/14 and 10/23/14, you can receive a free download code for the Demon King Costume Set DLC: two costumes for Ganondorf that you can use in-game.

Ganondorf is one of the many playable characters in Hyrule Warriors that come from classic games in The Legend of Zelda™ series. The two downloadable costumes are inspired by his appearances in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Keep an eye on club.nintendo.com in the weeks ahead for more details about the offer.

You must be a Club Nintendo member to participate, and the offer is available only in the US and Canada.
