Amazon buys Twitch for $970 million

Despite rumors Google was buying the service, Amazon today announced it had purchased the streaming website for a grand total of $970 million in cash. It’s the latest news related to gaming from the online giant which earlier this year had launched the Fire TV with video game capabilities.
