Shovel Knight update out for Wii U today, 3DS soon

Yacht Club Games, developer of Shovel Knight, has confirmed the update for the Wii U version Shovel Knight will be available today. The game suffered from a small in-game bug that would force users to restart after causing a freeze during the Tinker Knight boss battle. According to the game’s developer, the 3DS patch isn’t quite done yet but is incoming.. However, if you’re looking for a work-around in the mean time, Yacht Club Games has given the following method below:

“Ah! Yes, defeat him with an attack other than the aerial Shovel Drop. Try when on the ground or use Mobile Gear relic.”

New Pokemon 3DS LL announced for Japan

Ten units will only be available to raffle winners who spend 1000 plus at Denny’s and Famil restaurant from July 15 to August 25. Those who spend the specified amount will receive a raffle code printed on their receipt. Five more units will be produced for an email campaign by Nintendo. If you live in Japan, keep an eye out for the email.

Next Level Games wants to work on next Mario or Zelda

Studio producer Ken Yeeloy has stated the following:

“I would love to work on a Zelda or Mario title,” said Yeeloy. “Those are the pinnacles of Nintendo IP and I think it would be a lot of fun to go through the process of building one of those games. Trying to come up with new mechanics and puzzles that fit those franchises would be a huge challenge and would be extremely rewarding to see in the end product.”

Of course even if it does get the chance, we know that the either series will be in good hands - Next Level created Luigi’s Mansion Dark Moon which was a massive success and launched for the 3DS just over a year ago.
